R Ashwin is likely to play in the match against England.
PTI i.e. Press Trust of India has confirmed that Ashwin will play against England. The wicket of Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow is considered favorable for spinners. Therefore R. Ashwin will be part of the Indian playing XI against England on October 29. Ashwin got a chance in the team against Australia, where he took 1 wicket for 34 runs in 10 overs.After this Ashwin was made to sit on the bench. In his place, Shardul Thakur was made a part of the Indian playing XI in the World Cup. Shardul Thakur did not live up to the expectations. He was never made to bowl 10 overs in bowling and Shardul did not get a chance to bat even once.
Interestingly, the situation changed after Hardik Pandya's injury. In such a situation, Suryakumar Yadav was selected in place of Hardik and Mohammed Shami in place of Shardul Thakur in the playing XI against New Zealand. This was the first match of both the players in this World Cup. Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets for 54 runs in 10 overs and was chosen man of the match. Suryakumar Yadav was unfortunately run out after scoring 2 runs. Hardik Pandya will not play at least the next 3 matches due to injury. In such a situation, it has been decided that only one of Suryakumar Yadav and Mohammed Shami will play against England.
